Right Care, Right Time, Right Place

Recovery is not a linear process, and there are many different pathways to success. Summit’s integrated approach addresses the “four pillars” of recovery: biological, psychological, social, and spiritual. Our long-term program allows you to spend up to nine months in a safe and comfortable recovery community, providing ample time and resources to address all the barriers that are holding you back from the life you deserve.

Substance Use Disorder (SUD) is responsible for illness, disabilities, and even death. And its impact extends beyond the individual, as it destroys relationships and fractures families. Too few people gain access to treatment, and all too often that treatment is ineffective.

Treating the whole person – not just their addiction

People are not purely emotional beings who can be supported with social and spiritual support only. Nor are we just biological organisms that can be effectively treated through physiological and psychological interventions alone. We need all of these to heal the whole person and promote change that endures beyond the time in treatment.

What to expect from our community

What to expect from our community

When you arrive, you become part of our community. We will identify your short and long-term needs by looking beyond the assessments and getting to know you as a human being, not as a “patient”.

Using a strengths-based approach, we’ll work with you to determine the best path forward. We consider the medical, psychological, spiritual, and social aspects that address your needs, in a way that best fits you and the skills and abilities that you bring to Summit.

Successful outcomes require the appropriate treatment length for you. It’s not about stopping substance use for 30 days. It’s about resolving the underlying issues that will lead to a lifetime of change.

Family is an essential component of lasting remission from the disease of addiction. We work with families in three phases – before, during, and after treatment. Before: we help families understand the nature of SUD and give them tools to guide their loved one toward recovery “from a safe distance”. During: We educate them on the recovery process at Summit and how to best support their family member while in our care (enabling, co-dependency, etc.) After: we support forgiveness and reunification after treatment and show them how their participation in the process is essential for lasting success.

Much of the healing you will experience at Summit comes from engagement with other members of the community. Wounded healers, peers who have been in your shoes, are the most helpful to your recovery. We encourage you to stay connected and continue to play a role in the Summit community.
